PDP tackles Gombe gov’t over alleged N315m

The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the state government of spending ₦315 million on gifts for a Kano‑based singer.

In a statement, PDP spokesperson Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku said the government allegedly approved ₦115 million for a Coaster Bus and ₦200 million in cash. He described the move as reckless and questioned the administration’s priorities.

According to Dukku, the funds could have supported education, healthcare, or youth empowerment. He noted that Gombe has more than 787,000 out‑of‑school children and argued that the money could have returned thousands to classrooms.

The PDP also claimed that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration allocated four plots of land in Shehu Abubakar District Layout to the same singer. The party said this was troubling because many landowners in the area recently lost part of their plots through government revocation without compensation.

The opposition demanded transparency and asked the government to explain the basis for the allocations.

Responding, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director of Press Affairs at the Government House, dismissed the claims. He called them baseless and accused the PDP of seeking relevance ahead of elections.
