UNICEF has donated infection prevention materials to more than 200 health facilities across Borno State in a major healthcare intervention.

The intervention will reach health facilities across all 27 local government areas in Borno State.

Officials said the materials are designed to strengthen infection prevention, improve hygiene practices and support safer healthcare delivery.

UNICEF explained that the initiative aims to improve healthcare quality, especially for women and children in vulnerable communities.

The materials include buckets, sprayers, detergents and other WASHFIT tools to improve health facility safety standards.

Health experts say stronger infection control can reduce preventable illnesses and improve patient safety.

Borno officials described the support as timely and praised UNICEF for responding to healthcare needs in the state.

Attention now turns to implementation and how the donated materials will improve services across health facilities.
