The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is making an early power move—and it wants the whole country.

From Owerri, the party opened its doors to members of other parties and pitched itself as the fresh alternative for 2027.

No baggage. No court battles. No recycled promises.

“Nigeria is looking for a clean, uncompromised platform. That platform is NDC,” said National Vice Chairman (South East), Chief Teddy Obey.

He took a swipe at rival parties, accusing them of wasting time on internal fights instead of building support.

“A house divided cannot stand. Others stay in court—we build on the ground,” he said.

The party also moved fast to strengthen its base in Imo State. It named Reginald Uwakwe as Interim Chairman and handed Fabian Onyekwulisi control of mobilisation and candidate selection.
