Peter Obi Criticises Former Pre-Democracy Figures

Peter Obi has criticised what he described as a decline in democratic values among some former pro-democracy figures.

In a statement, Obi said individuals who once fought for democracy during the era of Sani Abacha now appear to be undermining the same principles they once defended.

He described the situation as an “irony of history.”

Obi argued that power has revealed the true character of some political actors.

He suggested that current actions by some leaders contradict the ideals of democracy and human rights.

The former Anambra State governor warned against eroding democratic institutions.

He emphasised the need for accountability and adherence to the rule of law.

Obi concluded by reiterating his call for a better Nigeria.
