Security agencies in Kano State have successfully rescued Alhaji Hamza Durya, the Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Council, following his abduction.
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) led the operation, which resulted in his safe release.
Gunmen kidnapped Durya at his residence in Kibiya Local Government Area. However, security operatives quickly launched a coordinated operation to track the suspects.
As a result, the team rescued the victim without harm.
During the mission, security forces arrested two suspected kidnappers. The suspects sustained bullet injuries during the encounter.
Meanwhile, operatives secured the area and prevented further escalation.
The Kano State Government commended the DSS and other agencies for their swift and professional response.
Officials described the rescue as a direct result of improved security strategies across the state.
Authorities also praised Abba Kabir Yusuf for supporting security agencies with resources and logistics.
According to officials, this support has strengthened operations across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
Furthermore, authorities urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
