Governor Bala Mohammed has dismissed rumours that he plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), affirming that he remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking amid rising political speculation, the governor admitted that the PDP faces internal challenges but ruled out leaving the party.
“There are rumours that I’ve joined the APC. I’m not going anywhere, but we have problems in the PDP,” Mohammed said.
The governor noted that politics is fluid and requires careful calculation. He hinted at the possibility of future realignments while emphasizing strategic decision-making.
“Politics is dynamic. We can be anywhere, but certainly, we won’t be stupid. We’ll be very strategic,” he added.
His comments come at a time when defections and political realignments are shaping the landscape ahead of upcoming elections. Political observers say Mohammed’s statement reflects broader concerns within the PDP about cohesion and direction.
Despite uncertainties, the governor’s remarks appear intended to calm speculation while leaving the door open for calculated political moves in the future.
