King Charles III Praises Nigerians’ Contribution to British Society

King Charles III has praised Nigerians for their growing influence across British society.

He spoke during a state banquet held at Windsor Castle.

The event honoured Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

King Charles said people of Nigerian heritage are now central to British national life.

He noted that Nigerians are excelling across business, technology, academia, law, science, sports and public service.

The King also praised Nigerian cultural influence through Afrobeats music, literature and the global success of Nollywood.

According to him, Nigerian talent has enriched British society and strengthened cultural exchange between both nations.

He said more than half a million people with Nigerian heritage form a living bridge connecting the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

The monarch highlighted growing economic ties between the two countries.

He said Nigerian banks and companies are increasingly establishing operations in London.

King Charles also noted that Nigerian companies are listing on the London Stock Exchange.

The monarch said British institutions are also expanding education and technology partnerships in Nigeria.

He described the relationship between both nations as a partnership of equals.

The King acknowledged historical complexities but stressed the importance of building a future based on cooperation and mutual respect.

He concluded by celebrating the enduring friendship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
