The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has officially commenced registration for the 2026 Direct Entry programme.

In a notice shared on its official X account, JAMB announced that the sale of application documents began on Monday, March 2, 2026. The board also confirmed that the registration will close on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Registration Limited To Accredited Offices

JAMB emphasised that the registration process is strictly controlled. Therefore, candidates must complete all procedures at accredited state and zonal offices nationwide.

The board clarified that the purchase of e-PINs and application documents will not take place outside these approved centres. As a result, applicants are advised to avoid unauthorised agents to prevent fraud.

What Direct Entry Means For Candidates

The Direct Entry programme allows qualified candidates to gain admission directly into 200 level in Nigerian universities. Consequently, applicants can bypass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Eligible candidates include those with National Diploma, National Certificate in Education, Interim Joint Matriculation Board certificates, A-level qualifications, or other approved equivalents.

Registration Follows UTME Deadline

The Direct Entry registration follows the conclusion of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration, which closed on February 28.

With the new registration window now open, JAMB has urged prospective candidates to complete their applications early. In addition, the board reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible admission process for the 2026 academic session.
