Professor Umaru Pate has finished his five-year term as Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere in Gombe State.
The Gombe State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) praised Prof. Pate for the progress and development he brought to the university and beyond.
NUJ says his leadership and professional experience have made him a respected figure in media, academia, and the wider community.
Under his tenure, the university expanded academic programmes, infrastructure, and student welfare changes many say have strengthened the institution.
