CAC Announces 3,500 Free Business Name Registrations

The Corporate Affairs Commission has announced 3,500 free business name registrations as part of activities marking its 35th anniversary.

The announcement was made on Tuesday during the opening ceremony of the CAC@35 celebration in Abuja.

The Commission also unveiled a newly redesigned website integrated with an AI Lawyer Assistant.

Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, presented the new digital platform.

He said the website redesign supports ease of doing business and improves access to regulatory information.

Magaji explained that the AI Lawyer Assistant allows users to ask questions on CAC laws, rules, and procedures.

He said the system provides instant and accurate responses to users.

The Registrar-General also introduced an AI Name Generator on the website.

He said the tool enables users to generate and reserve scalable business names quickly.

According to him, the free registrations will be distributed across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Magaji also announced scholarships for six outstanding corporate law students.

He said the beneficiaries would come from the six campuses of the Nigerian Law School in 2026.

The CAC boss announced the donation of 120 mattresses to an internally displaced persons camp.

He also approved a commemorative staff bonus of 25 percent of one month’s gross salary.

Other incentives include special car and housing loan schemes for staff.

Top government officials, industry leaders, and former Bauchi State governor Isa Yuguda attended the event.
