Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss security and development priorities.
Sani briefed the president on the rescue of worshippers abducted from churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, on January 18, 2026.
He said intelligence-led operations and collaboration between state and federal security agencies secured the safe release of all victims.
The governor praised Tinubu for maintaining constant contact with him during the two weeks the victims remained in captivity.
He said the president’s calls reassured affected families and provided comfort to communities across Kaduna State.

The meeting also reviewed major infrastructure projects critical to security and economic growth in the state.
Sani highlighted the commencement of the Birnin Gwari road project as a key intervention to improve connectivity and security.
Both leaders agreed on the need to rehabilitate the Kaduna Eastern Bypass and the Jere–Kwoi–Kafanchan road.
They also discussed plans to upgrade the Zaria–Pambegua–Saminaka road to support regional mobility.
Sani thanked the Federal Government for sustained support to Kaduna State.
He commended security personnel for their role in rescuing the abducted worshippers.
The governor reaffirmed Kaduna State’s commitment to working with the Federal Government on security and development initiatives.
