FG Reaffirms Transparency as CAC Marks 35th Anniversary

The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation received the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, on a courtesy visit ahead of CAC’s 35th anniversary.

During the meeting, the Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, institutional reforms, and ease of doing business through strengthened inter-agency collaboration supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Ministry commended the Corporate Affairs Commission for far-reaching institutional and process reforms that repositioned the agency as a key driver of Nigeria’s business environment and credibility.

Notably, CAC reforms contributed to Nigeria’s recent removal from the Financial Action Task Force grey list, strengthening global confidence in the country’s corporate governance framework.

Speaking during the visit, Registrar-General Magaji highlighted the Commission’s transition from manual operations to a fully digital registry, enabling real-time service delivery nationwide.

He disclosed that CAC expanded its digital services from 33 to over 100, deploying artificial intelligence, API integrations, and operationalising the Beneficial Ownership Register.

Additionally, CAC reforms helped formalise over four million informal businesses through free business registrations conducted in partnership with relevant government agencies nationwide.

The Ministry urged the Commission to intensify public engagement and advocacy, assuring continued support in amplifying government reforms through strategic communication and public enlightenment initiatives.
