Luis Enrique has been praised for transforming Paris Saint-Germain into a disciplined and united side after years of relying on superstar talent.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the French champions are now strong enough to dominate European football for years under Enrique’s leadership.

PSG reached the UEFA Champions League final after a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena secured a 6-5 aggregate victory.

Ousmane Dembele gave PSG an early lead after finishing a brilliant move created by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Bayern fought back late through Harry Kane, but PSG held on to book a final clash with Arsenal in Budapest.

Gerrard said Enrique deserves credit for changing the mentality at the club.

“He’s built a team that could dominate for years to come,” Gerrard said. “In the past, PSG had many big names and strong egos, but now every player works hard for the team.”

According to Gerrard, Enrique moved away from individual-focused football and built a younger squad committed to teamwork, discipline, and defensive organization.

PSG’s defensive display against Bayern impressed many observers, with captain Marquinhos and defender Willian Pacho standing out at the back.

Former midfielder Owen Hargreaves also praised the spirit within the squad, saying the players now celebrate defensive moments with the same passion as goals.

He added that PSG’s transformation under Enrique has been remarkable, with every player contributing both in attack and defense.

Despite PSG’s strong defensive work, Kvaratskhelia remained the standout attacking performer. The Georgian winger constantly troubled Bayern defenders with his dribbling, movement, and creativity.

With a young squad, tactical discipline, and a coach trusted by his players, PSG now appear ready to compete at the top level of European football for many years.
