Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead a lineup of national and international leaders at the 9th edition of the Voice of Women Conference & Awards (VOW2025), scheduled for October 2 at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

Themed “Nigerian Women & The Power of Collective Action,” the event will convene grassroots women, policymakers, and thought leaders to explore how unity across class, region, and sector can drive transformative policies and sustainable development, organizers said in a statement signed by Emmanuel Olonade, Communications Officer at wfm917.com.

Other high-profile participants include former South African Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, and British Deputy High Commissioner Gill Lever.

Also billed to attend are Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, Hansatu Adegbite, Sherifat Taleat, and Funmilola Paseda Oladoyinbo.

The conference will feature keynote addresses, panel sessions, fireside chats, and exhibitions, building on the momentum of VOW2024, which focused on women’s inclusion for a sustainable Nigeria.

Convener Toun Okewale Sonaiya said VOW was more than a gathering, stressing the need for women to support one another across political, economic, ethnic, and social divides.

“Only then can Nigerian women move from passive participants in governance and leadership to becoming the decisive force that shapes it,” she said.
