The SERVICOM National Office has honoured the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs Zubaida Umar, in recognition of her leadership, transparency, accountability, and commitment to effective public service delivery.
The award was presented at the SERVICOM 2025 Awards Ceremony for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) held in Abuja. According to SERVICOM, the recognition reflects Mrs Umar’s ethical leadership and sustained reforms that have strengthened responsive, citizen-centred service delivery within NEMA.
Mrs Umar was represented at the ceremony by NEMA’s SERVICOM Nodal Officer, Dr Thickman Tanimu, who received the award on her behalf.

In addition to the individual honour, NEMA also received an institutional award for its consistent delivery of quality services and impactful humanitarian interventions across the country.
Reacting to the recognition, Mrs Umar expressed appreciation to SERVICOM, describing the award as an encouragement to deepen reforms and sustain high standards of transparency, accountability and excellence in service delivery.
The awards ceremony is part of SERVICOM’s annual assessment of MDAs aimed at promoting improved service standards and strengthening public confidence in government institutions.
