Senate Confirms CEOs of NUPRC and NMDPRA

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Joint Committees on Petroleum Upstream, Downstream and Gas at plenary.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier appointed the two nominees to fill vacancies created by the resignation of the former heads of the regulatory agencies. The President’s request for confirmation was transmitted to the Senate on Thursday.

The confirmation process was expedited and concluded within 24 hours.
