NITDA, NTDA Partner to Digitise Nigeria’s Tourism Sector

The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has met with the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Dr. Olayiwola Awakan, to strengthen collaboration on the digital transformation of Nigeria’s tourism sector.

The strategic meeting, held in Abuja, focused on leveraging technology to improve destination visibility, enhance visitor experience, and reposition Nigeria’s tourism industry for global competitiveness.

Discussions centred on the use of digital platforms, data-driven promotion, and innovation to unlock economic opportunities across the tourism value chain and attract international tourists.

The engagement aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s development agenda on accelerating economic diversification through digitalisation, innovation, and the creative economy.

Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration aimed at driving growth, job creation, and global relevance for Nigeria’s tourism sector.
