The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named Akeem Ishola Busari as the new head coach of the Flamingos.

He replaces Bankole Olowookere, who managed the team for several years.

Olowookere led the Flamingos to third place at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.

That result remains one of Nigeria’s best finishes in the competition.

Busari currently coaches Pacesetters Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

He has strong experience in developing young players.

The Flamingos will face either Niger or Guinea in the next qualifying round.

These matches are part of the race for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Morocco will host the tournament later this year.
