The M. Gur Foundation has successfully organised a series of Islamic lectures and Qur’an recitation sessions in Biu town, Borno State, under the supervision of Alhaji Mamman Ibrahim Gur.
The programme brought together renowned Islamic scholars and Qur’an reciters from across the country to enlighten and spiritually uplift the community.
Among the prominent scholars who participated were:
Dr. Abdurrahman Sani Yakubu (Zaria), who delivered the Friday sermon at Al Kitabu Wa Sunnah Mosque in Nasarawo area.
Dr. Umar Dokaji, who delivered the Friday sermon at Abu Huraira Mosque (Saifuddaulah Mosque) in Tashan Dan Fulani.
Sheikh Abubakar Waziri, who delivered the Friday sermon at Al Kitabu Wa Sunnah Mosque (Sheikh Ibrahim Ntoddi Mosque) in Tashan Gandu.
After the Juma’at prayers, the scholars and participants visited the Biu town cemetery to pray for the departed souls.
Later that Friday night, another special lecture was held at the Central Mosque near the palace of the Emir of Biu, where senior scholars and Islamic teachers delivered powerful sermons.
On Saturday morning, the programme continued with a special session for women at Darul Hadith Mosque, Galdimare, where visiting scholars delivered lessons to mothers and women in the community.
On Saturday night, Dr. Alkali Abubakar Salihu (Zaria) delivered a lecture at Al Kitabu Wa Sunnah Mosque in Biu.
Top Qur’an reciters also featured in the programme, including:
Goni Musa Ahmad (Maiduguri), Nigeria’s overall winner of the national Qur’an recitation competition.
Goni Hamid Musa Zakariya, who represented Nigeria at the international Qur’an recitation competition in Morocco.
Goni Muhammad Musa Zakariya, alongside other outstanding reciters.
The lectures and recitations lasted for three days, from Friday to Sunday, all organised under the M. Gur Foundation, led by Alhaji Mamman Ibrahim Gur.
At the end of every session, special prayers were offered for Biu town, Borno State, and Nigeria as a whole, asking Allah for peace, unity, and progress.
