The inauguration was performed on Friday by Hajia Aisha Aminu-Malumfashi, Commissioner for Women Affairs, who described the launch as a major step toward enhancing women’s economic empowerment in Katsina.

Addressing committee members, Aminu-Malumfashi stressed the importance of diligence, dedication, and accountability in driving the project to success. She said the initiative aligns with the state government’s broader goal of boosting livelihood opportunities and inclusive development for women across communities.

The STC will be chaired by Alhaji Nura Murtala, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs, while Hajia Aisha Mohammed, the project coordinator, will serve as the committee’s secretary.

Membership of the committee spans key ministries and agencies, including Health, Education, Commerce and Industry, Budget and Economic Planning, Agriculture, Water Resources, Finance, the Katsina State Development Management Board (KTDMB), and the Katsina State Enterprises and Development Agency (KASEDA) reflecting a multi-sectoral approach to implementation.

In his acceptance speech, Murtala expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to ensure effective coordination and commitment from all relevant government departments.
