The Federal Ministry of Interior has commenced a three-day capacity-building training on the Performance Management System (PMS) aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, and measurable service delivery across its departments and agencies.
Declaring the training open at the Dambazzau Hall, Nigerian Correctional Service Headquarters, Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s renewed vision for public sector reform. He emphasized that institutionalizing PMS is central to ensuring evidence-based performance tracking, professionalism, and people-centered outcomes in government operations.
“The Performance Management System is at the heart of our reform agenda. It will help us strengthen internal control frameworks, eliminate waste, improve transparency, and foster a culture of measurable results,” Dr. Tunji-Ojo stated.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, underscored the need for an attitudinal shift among staff, calling on officers to embrace commitment and excellence in their work.

The training, conducted by Zemedy Services Limited, is designed to equip key officers with modern tools and standardized methodologies for performance evaluation, data generation, and decision-making.
According to the Ministry, the programme reinforces the government’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity, deepening organizational excellence, and entrenching a unified performance framework across all agencies.
“In building a strong, sustainable institution that upholds public trust, we assure Nigerians that we shall prioritise discipline, creativity, and proven impact above all,” the Minister affirmed.
