The Nigeria Police Force has reassured Nigerians of sustained national security amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, said Nigeria remains stable and its internal security firmly under control.
In a statement on Sunday, the Force said it has strengthened proactive and intelligence-led policing nationwide.
The IGP directed Commissioners of Police across all states and the FCT to heighten surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Special attention is focused on the North-West, North-East, and North-Central zones, where preventive measures have been reinforced.
The Police also increased security around worship centres, public spaces, and critical infrastructure.
Authorities warned that Nigeria will not become a theatre for foreign ideological or religious conflicts.
The Force said any attempt to exploit global tensions to incite unrest will face the full weight of the law.
The IGP urged community leaders to promote peace and social cohesion nationwide.
Citizens were advised to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, and to report suspicious activities promptly.
The Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting lives, property, and national peace at all times.
