Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Saturday received a wave of political leaders and citizens from Southern Kaduna who officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, held at the Kafanchan Township Stadium, drew thousands of party supporters and community members who gathered to witness what the Governor described as a “remarkable moment of unity and progress.”
In his remarks, Governor Sani expressed pride and optimism over the development, saying the mass defection reflects growing confidence in the APC’s values of justice, inclusiveness, accountability, and progress.
He said his administration has consistently promoted inclusiveness through investments in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, and community development, ensuring that growth reaches all parts of the state regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliation.

“Peace and development are inseparable twins, and I am grateful to the people of Southern Kaduna for embracing the Kaduna Peace Model,” Governor Sani said.
“Today, no single elected official from Southern Kaduna is in the opposition — a powerful testament to our shared unity and even spread of development.”
The Governor particularly welcomed Senator Sunday Marshal Katung and members of the House of Representatives and Kaduna State House of Assembly from Southern Kaduna who have joined the APC, noting that the party sees all members as equal partners in the quest for a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna.
“In our great party, there are no old or new members — only compatriots united by purpose, service, and a shared vision for a united Kaduna State,” Governor Sani added.
