The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has reportedly deployed elite fighters to confront Israeli forces in southern Lebanon as the Middle East conflict intensifies.
According to Lebanese sources familiar with the deployments, the fighters were sent back to the border region from which they had withdrawn following the 2024 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
The fighters are believed to belong to Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, an elite unit trained for special operations and cross-border combat.

Sources said the unit received orders to block Israeli military advances, including the movement of Israeli tanks along the border area.
The redeployment signals that the Iran-backed group is becoming more directly involved in the widening regional conflict.
Israeli airstrikes have targeted Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, including areas near Beirut, while Hezbollah has launched missiles and anti-tank attacks against Israeli troops.
The situation is unfolding amid a broader Middle East crisis involving Israel, Iran and allied groups across the region.
Diplomatic efforts from international actors have called for restraint, warning that further escalation could draw more countries into the conflict.
