GSU Muslim Ummah Hosts 19th Ramadan Public Lecture

The Muslim Ummah of Gombe State University successfully hosted its 19th Ramadan Public Lecture, drawing academics, students, Islamic scholars, and guests from across the university community.

The lecture, themed “The Role of Youth in Building an Educated and Secure Society,” coincided with the 19th day of Ramadan, 1447 AH, and focused on the pivotal role of young people in fostering societal development.

Professor Dahiru Inuwa Ibrahim opened the programme with a warm welcome, highlighting the Ramadan lecture series as a forum for spiritual reflection, intellectual engagement, and moral guidance.

Sheikh Ibrahim Aminu Daurawa delivered the keynote lecture, underscoring that youth remain the strongest catalysts for positive societal change. His message resonated with attendees, emphasizing the importance of education, ethical responsibility, and active civic participation.

In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta praised the Muslim Ummah for organizing a “timely and impactful” lecture, stressing that universities have a key role in shaping responsible citizens capable of contributing to national development and social stability.

Closing the event, the Amir of the Muslim Ummah, Professor Usman Bala, expressed gratitude to all participants, including the Vice-Chancellor, the guest lecturer, the university management, staff, and students, for their support in making the programme a success.

The lecture highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering a culture where education, faith, and youth empowerment intersect to build a stronger, more secure society.
