The Gombe State Police Command has reinstated restrictions on motorcycle movements in the state capital over ongoing security concerns.
In a press release on Thursday, the Command said it took the decision after a security meeting with relevant agencies and key stakeholders.
The police announced that the restriction will take effect from Friday, April 3, 2026. It bans motorcycle use between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily.
According to the Command, criminals often use motorcycles to carry out attacks at night. The restriction aims to reduce such incidents and improve public safety.
Police spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, urged residents to comply with the directive and remain vigilant. He also advised the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state. It added that it will provide updates when necessary.
