The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Nigerians against illegal recruitment into foreign armed conflicts.
The ministry expressed concern over reports of Nigerians being deceived and recruited to fight in overseas combat zones.
According to investigations, victims were lured with promises of high salaries, security jobs, education and migration opportunities.
Some were reportedly forced to sign military contracts after arriving in foreign countries under false employment arrangements.

Their travel documents were allegedly seized, restricting movement and preventing them from returning home.
The ministry said some recruiters used tourist and non-military visas to facilitate illegal travel for combat duties.
The Federal Government warned that participation in foreign armed conflicts could violate Nigerian and international laws.
It stressed that Nigerians who accept such offers do so at their own risk and endanger their lives.
The government said it is working with local and international partners to investigate the recruitment networks.
Nigerian missions abroad have been directed to strengthen consular monitoring and issue timely travel advisories.
The ministry urged Nigerians to verify overseas job offers and avoid suspicious recruitment schemes.
