The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recorded major operational gains, arresting 160 suspects, rescuing 24 kidnapped victims, and recovering ₦15.45 million in criminal proceeds between October and December 2025.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Abuja, where he presented a three-month performance scorecard following his assumption of office in October.
CP Dantawaye said the achievements were driven by a shift to intelligence-led policing, strengthened collaboration with sister security agencies, and targeted operations across the six area councils of the FCT.
According to him, the Command prioritised crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, one-chance robbery, and vehicle theft, leading to the dismantling of several criminal gangs operating within and around the capital.
He revealed that 41 kidnapping suspects, 38 armed robbery suspects, 12 one-chance robbery suspects, and 11 car theft suspects were arrested. An additional 120 suspects were apprehended for offences including homicide, cultism, drug-related crimes, illegal possession of firearms, and cyber fraud.

The Police also rescued 24 kidnapped victims, including women and children, from criminal hideouts and forests, as well as eight victims of one-chance and other violent crimes.
Recovered items include 21 AK-47 rifles, 10 shotguns, 37 locally made pistols, 193 rounds of live ammunition, 86 bags of suspected cannabis sativa, and 14 vehicles linked to various crimes.
CP Dantawaye said the Command recovered ₦15,450,000, comprising ransom payments and other stolen funds. He added that 96 suspects were charged to court within the period, with 60 convictions already secured, while other cases are at different stages of prosecution.
The Commissioner also disclosed that nine armed suspects were neutralised during high-risk operations, while six police officers lost their lives in the line of duty.
“Their sacrifices remain a solemn reminder of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the protection of lives and property,” he said.
CP Dantawaye pledged to sustain the momentum through enhanced community policing, deeper intelligence gathering, and continuous clearance operations. He commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the FCT Minister, sister security agencies, the media, and residents for their support.
