The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has cleared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to proceed with its Elective National Convention scheduled for November 15–16, 2025, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Delivering judgment in Suit No. I/1336/2025, presided over by Justice A. L. Akintola, the court ruled in favour of the PDP following a case filed by Folahan Malamo Adelabi, an aspirant for the position of Deputy National Organizing Secretary.

Justice Akintola ordered that no party servant, agent, or officer of the PDP should truncate, frustrate, or disrupt the Guidelines, Timetable, or Schedule of Activities leading up to the convention.

In a key directive, the court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy monitors and observers to the event to ensure full compliance with electoral laws and transparency in the process.

The ruling further directed Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State and Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), to continue all preparations for the exercise.

With this judgment, all legal encumbrances surrounding the convention have been cleared, paving the way for the seamless participation of more than 3,000 delegates, including governors, lawmakers, statutory delegates, and party stakeholders from across the country.
