Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to mobilize support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Abba Atiku was formally received on Thursday evening in Abuja by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, and the APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu.
Following his defection, Abba Atiku announced the rebranding of the political movement he founded, renaming it Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.

The group was originally established in 2022 as the Atiku Haske Organisation, which was aligned with political mobilization efforts during the last general election cycle.
The move is seen as a significant political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly in the North East geopolitical zone, where both political leaders maintain strong influence.
