The Department of State Services (DSS) in Wase Local Government Area has successfully rescued 25 kidnapped victims following a coordinated security operation that also led to the neutralization of the kidnapping suspects involved.

Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Area and Chief Security Officer, Hon. Hamisu Mohammed Anani, commended the DSS operatives for their professionalism and swift action in securing the release of the victims.

Hon. Anani also praised the efforts of local vigilante groups for their collaboration with security agencies, noting that the operation restored confidence and reassurance among residents.

“There have been many security operations in the past, but the manner in which this was handled gave us both concern and confidence. I sincerely congratulate our security personnel and local vigilantes for doing the needful and bringing back our citizens who were kidnapped a few days ago, safe and unharmed,” he said.

He expressed gratitude that none of the rescued victims sustained injuries during the operation.

“We thank God that none of them was wounded. In operations like this, anything could happen, but by the grace of God, they were rescued alive and in good health,” Hon. Anani added.

The Wase LGA Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the local government area.

“We will continue to do everything possible to keep Wase Local Government safe and free from criminal activities,” he stated.

Hon. Anani further acknowledged the support of the Plateau State Government, particularly Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for providing the backing necessary for effective security operations.

“I want to reassure the good people of Wase and potential investors that Wase remains safe for residents, visitors, and businesses. Security remains our top priority, and we will not yield any part of Wase to criminals,” he emphasized.

He narrated that the victims were abducted and taken to an unknown location before security operatives tracked the kidnappers and successfully rescued them.

“They were abducted and taken to an unknown destination, but by the mercy of God and the commitment of our security agencies, the victims have regained their freedom and reunited with their families,” he said.

Hon. Anani called on residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious activities.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. If you see something, say something—so that something can be done.”
