Zulum Dissolves Borno Executive Council

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum Council.

The decision takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the state government.

Officials said the move is to allow council members interested in elections to pursue their political ambitions.

The directive applies to all commissioners serving in the state executive council.

Governor Zulum directed commissioners to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries.

The handover process is expected to be completed on or before April 3, 2026.

The Governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their service to the state.

He commended their dedication and contributions to governance and development in Borno State.

The statement was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani.

Officials said the transition is part of preparations ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The government also assured continuity in administration through permanent secretaries.
