The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has renewed its call for motorists to put safety first on the roads. It also urged religious institutions to help spread road safety messages.

Sector Commander Bridget Asekhauno spoke during a church outreach at Life of Faith Gospel Assembly in Onitsha. She said most road crashes are preventable and often caused by human error.

“Getting to your destination safely is in your hands,” she told the congregation.
“Most crashes are not caused by spirits, but by human actions.”

Asekhauno advised parents to place babies in the back seat. She also warned drivers against using phones while driving and overloading vehicles.

She stressed the need to obey traffic laws and follow road signs to prevent accidents.

The outreach included interactive sessions and the distribution of safety flyers. About 200 worshippers took part in the programme.

FRSC officials encouraged participants to share safety tips with family and friends. They emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility.

The church’s General Overseer, Emmanuel Obiora, praised the FRSC for the initiative. He urged members to obey traffic rules and prayed for the safety of FRSC officers.

He described the campaign as a valuable effort that can help save lives.

Through such outreach programmes, the FRSC aims to reduce road crashes and promote a culture of safe driving across Anambra State.
