The Yobe State Government has approved the renaming and upgrade of the Messenger cadre in the state civil service to Office Assistants.

Public officers across government institutions have been directed to adopt the new designation in all official communications and engagements.

Officials said the change forms part of the civil service reform agenda of Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The reform aims to strengthen the state’s public service by modernising administrative structures and improving institutional efficiency.

According to the government, the new designation reflects the evolving responsibilities of the cadre within government offices.
