Sani Buhari popularly known as Waspapping has clarified the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest, stating that the Office of the National Security Adviser had no involvement in the incident.

In a personal account released on April 1, 2026, Buhari said he was arrested on March 6 by operatives of the Department of State Services in Kaduna.

He noted that the arrest took place at NEPA Roundabout without prior explanation.

According to him, he was transferred to Abuja the following day on the directive of the DSS Director-General.

Buhari stated that at no point during his detention was the NSA or its office mentioned in connection with his arrest.

He added that, based on his experience, the NSA’s office was not aware of the situation at the time.

Efforts to secure his release initially proved unsuccessful.

However, he said the situation changed after an official within the NSA’s office intervened.

The intervention, he noted, led to a more structured handling of his case and ultimately his release.

Buhari described the DSS as professional during his detention and respectful of due process.

He dismissed claims linking the NSA to his arrest, describing them as based on speculation rather than fact.

He also expressed appreciation to those who supported him during the period.
