The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has launched its Digital Certificate Services System, known as WAEC DigiCert, in its five member countries.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC Headquarters in Accra, Demianus Ojijeogu, on behalf of the Registrar. The service is now available in The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
WAEC said the platform is a secure mobile and web based system that allows candidates to easily access, request, confirm, and share digital copies of their certificates with institutions around the world.
Ojijeogu explained that the digital service guarantees authenticity, reduces delays, and lowers the cost linked to manual certificate processing.
He added that the system will not stop the printing of physical certificates, but will support the existing process.
WAEC advised the public to download the WAEC DigiCert mobile app or visit its official online platforms for more information.
