Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday officially opened the Digital Nigeria 2025 Conference and Exhibition at the BAT International Conference Centre, Abuja, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.

The 3-day event, the nation’s largest annual gathering of innovators, policymakers, and tech leaders, is being held under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

It aims to accelerate Nigeria’s journey toward a fully digital economy driven by innovation, inclusion, and industrialisation.

In attendance were the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani (Chief Host); the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi (Host); as well as chief executives of key parastatals, private sector partners, and international development stakeholders.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President Shettima reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for digital growth, describing technology as “the foundation of Nigeria’s economic future and the bridge to national prosperity.”

Throughout the conference, startups are showcasing breakthrough innovations while experts engage in high-level policy dialogues on digital inclusion, AI adoption, data governance, and emerging technologies.

Digital Nigeria 2025, organisers say, represents the intersection of vision and execution, a demonstration of how technology can drive sustainable growth, job creation, and national competitiveness in the global digital economy.
