United Nigeria Airlines has reported a second bird strike incident involving one of its Airbus aircraft within 24 hours.
The latest incident occurred during take-off of Flight UN0519 from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday.
The aircraft involved is an Airbus A320, affected shortly after departure at about 12:00pm.
The airline disclosed that this was the fourth bird strike incident recorded since January 2026.
Following the occurrence, the affected aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service for comprehensive technical inspection and safety evaluation.

This development brings the total number of Airbus aircraft removed from operation within 24 hours to two.
The airline warned that some scheduled flights across its network may experience delays or cancellations.
