Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has commissioned the Durum–Kuruntumawa Asphalt Road in Makarfi Local Government Area, alongside the Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru and Audi–Kako Roads in Zaria, marking another milestone in the state’s infrastructure development programme.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Governor said the projects were part of his administration’s commitment to inclusive and people-centred development, especially in communities that have long suffered from poor connectivity and limited access to basic services.

Governor Sani disclosed that Makarfi Local Government, which had not benefited from any completed road project for over a decade, has now received critical infrastructure that will improve transportation, boost agricultural productivity and strengthen access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities.

In Zaria, the Governor noted that the Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru Road would enhance urban mobility and commercial activities by connecting densely populated communities to major trading hubs. He revealed that over ₦1 billion was paid as compensation to affected residents to ensure the successful completion of the project.

He added that the Audi–Kako Road would further improve access to educational institutions, healthcare centres and business districts, describing infrastructure as a catalyst for economic growth and social cohesion.

Governor Sani stated that the three roads are part of a larger infrastructure programme covering 140 road projects spanning 1,335 kilometres across Kaduna State, aimed at ensuring balanced development across urban and rural communities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, timely project delivery and efficient use of public resources, while assuring residents that more development projects would be rolled out across the state.
