United States President Donald Trump is reportedly considering deploying special forces to seize Iran’s near-bomb-grade uranium stockpile.

According to a report by an international outlet, the option is being discussed within the U.S. administration as tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme escalate.

Diplomatic officials familiar with the discussions said the proposal involves sending American forces to secure uranium enriched to around 60 percent purity, a level considered close to weapons-grade.

The uranium is believed to be stored at nuclear facilities linked to Iran’s enrichment programme.

Security analysts say material enriched to this level could be converted to weapons-grade uranium relatively quickly if further processed.

Officials said the option remains under consideration and no final decision has been taken.

Deploying troops on Iranian territory would represent a major escalation in the ongoing confrontation over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Washington has long accused Iran of advancing its nuclear capabilities beyond civilian purposes, an allegation Tehran has repeatedly denied.

The report comes amid growing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and renewed concerns over nuclear proliferation.

Any operation aimed at securing Iran’s uranium stockpile could significantly alter the security dynamics in the region.

Analysts warn that such a move could trigger broader military confrontation and further destabilise an already volatile geopolitical environment.
