Complaints has been raised over traffic management on the reconstruction of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano highway.

Journalist Jaafar Jaafar raised the concerns about safety and congestion along the route.

He directed the complaint to the Federal Ministry of Works Nigeria.

Jaafar said the contractor failed to provide an alternative route at the Kwanar Dawaki axis.

The contractor handling the project is Infiouest International Limited.

He noted that the area handles heavy daily traffic.

Motorists now face delays and congestion during construction.

Jaafar also criticised the absence of warning signs.

According to him, motorists receive no guidance about diversions or hazards.

This situation increases safety risks for road users.

Jaafar urged the ministry to ensure the contractor manages traffic properly.

He also asked officials to confirm whether the project includes diversion routes.

If such provisions exist, he said they should be implemented immediately.

The Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano road remains one of Nigeria’s busiest highways.
