The annual festival is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events.

It is held along the riverside of Matan Fada, a historic site recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The visit underscores the Federal Government’s continued engagement with subnational governments and support for cultural heritage and tourism development.
