Tinubu Reappoints Bugaje as NBTE Executive Secretary

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of Idris Muhammad Bugaje as Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education.

The renewal grants Bugaje a second and final term of five years.

He was first appointed on March 14, 2021.

The decision followed a review of his performance and leadership record.

The presidency cited significant reforms in Nigeria’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

These include curriculum modernisation and the development of 100 national curricula aligned with global standards.

The administration also noted efforts to strengthen and reposition the TVET ecosystem.

The renewal aligns with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for education.

President Tinubu urged Bugaje to consolidate ongoing reforms.

He also tasked him with completing key initiatives already underway.
