President Bola Tinubu has commended Nasir Idris for executing major infrastructure projects across Kebbi State.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi during the official commissioning of the newly completed State Secretariat Complex, which was named in his honour.
The President also inaugurated several other projects delivered under the Idris administration.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu said he was not surprised by the governor’s achievements.
“I know what you can do. You are a man of mission and vision. I am always proud of you,” the President said, describing Idris as a focused leader committed to the welfare of the people.
He thanked residents of Kebbi for supporting the state government, noting that public cooperation had contributed significantly to the administration’s progress.
Tinubu further assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue supporting states in delivering development projects, particularly in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
Among the projects inaugurated during the one-day visit were the Birnin Kebbi Central Motor Park, aimed at improving transportation and boosting commercial activities, the expanded three-lane road along Emir Haruna Road, Kauran Gwandu College of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences in Ambursa and the dualised Old Argungu Bypass.
The newly commissioned State Secretariat Complex, which cost billions of naira, was originally initiated in 2012 but later revived and completed by Governor Idris. The project forms part of broader efforts to modernise government offices and improve administrative efficiency in Kebbi State.
Tinubu’s visit coincided with the closing ceremony of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, where he attended as Special Guest of Honour.
The Argungu festival, one of Nigeria’s most prominent cultural events, attracts local and international visitors annually and remains a key tourism driver for Kebbi State.
Observers say the President’s visit underscores the Federal Government’s continued engagement with state-led development initiatives across the country.
