Tinubu Deploys Army Battalion to Kaiama After Terror Attack

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The directive follows an overnight Boko Haram attack on Worro community, where several villagers were killed by terrorists.

Accordingly, the President said the new battalion will lead Operation Savannah Shield to counter terrorist threats in the area.

Furthermore, he said the operation will protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks by armed extremists.

President Tinubu strongly condemned the attack, describing it as cowardly, barbaric, and targeted at defenceless civilians.

He expressed anger that the attackers murdered residents who rejected extremist indoctrination and upheld peaceful religious values.

Meanwhile, the President praised the community for refusing violent ideology and choosing faith rooted in peace and dialogue.

He therefore urged federal and state agencies to collaborate in providing relief to affected residents.

Additionally, he directed security agencies to track the attackers and ensure they face justice.

President Tinubu condoled with grieving families and the people of Kwara State over the tragic loss.

Finally, he prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and reaffirmed government commitment to restoring peace.
