Shettima to Chair NEC Conference on Inclusive Growth

The Federal Government will convene the National Economic Council Conference on 9–10 February 2026, aiming to boost inclusive growth nationwide efficiently.

Vice President Kashim Shettima will chair the two-day summit, guiding deliberations on fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation, and shared development strategies effectively.

Governors of all 36 states, along with national stakeholders, will actively participate, ensuring policy alignment and collaborative economic planning across Nigeria successfully.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, convened the conference to harmonise federal and state economic policies strategically.

The event, themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” focuses on actionable policy outcomes urgently.

Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, Permanent Secretary and NEC Secretary, stated the conference will address pressing macroeconomic priorities and national development challenges comprehensively.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while top officials, private-sector leaders, and development partners contribute insights collaboratively.

Key discussions will explore investment mobilisation, fiscal reforms, and strategies to accelerate inclusive growth across all regions of the country effectively.

Officials emphasised that the NEC Conference strengthens state-federal coordination; consequently, it ensures accountability and accelerates reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda consistently.
