Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the African Union Summit.
He will attend the 39th Ordinary Session of AU Heads of State and the 30th General Assembly.
The meetings are scheduled to hold on February 14 and 15, 2026.
Shettima was received at Bole International Airport by Ethiopian and Nigerian officials.
Among them were Ethiopia’s Innovation Minister Dr. Belete Mola and Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Amb. Yussuf Tuggar.
On arrival, Tuggar briefed the Vice President on his schedule and engagements at the summit.
The summit theme focuses on sustainable water availability and safe sanitation systems under Agenda 2063.

Shettima is expected to participate in high-level side events and bilateral meetings.
Tuggar said the Regional Partnership for Democracy will help strengthen democratic governance in Africa.
He also noted Nigeria’s confirmation as host of the African Monetary Institute and African Central Bank.
