Shehu Sani Urges Atiku to Drop 2027 Bid

Former senator, Shehu Sani, has urged former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, to step aside from the 2027 presidential race.

He said the South should complete its eight-year tenure. According to him, this move will support fairness and political balance.

Speaking on in an interview, Sani stressed the need to respect power rotation.

He explained that Nigeria relies on this system to maintain unity, therefore, ignoring it could create tension.

Meanwhile, Sani raised concerns about the opposition coalition ahead of 2027, pointed to divisions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and also highlighted that the issues could weaken the coalition.

PDP Crisis May Hurt Chances

In addition, Sani warned that the crisis in the People’s Democratic Party could hurt its chances.

He said unresolved conflicts may reduce its strength against the ruling party and urged party leaders to act quickly.

Sani also shared his views on the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He gave a direct assessment of leadership challenges and also spoke about past governments and national direction.
