SERAP has sued the Central Bank of Nigeria over missing N3 trillion in public funds.

The suit follows allegations in the Auditor-General’s 2025 report on N629 billion paid to unknown beneficiaries nationwide misuse of funds.

SERAP filed case number FHC/ABJ/CS/250/2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja last week, seeking judicial accountability and transparency orders.

The group seeks a mandamus order compelling the bank to explain how the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme funds were spent publicly.

SERAP says the allegations show violations of the Constitution, the CBN Act, and anti-corruption standards governing public finance management systems.

The organisation insists Nigerians deserve full disclosure, restitution, and guarantees against future diversion of public resources from authorities concerned nationwide.
