Multiple suicide bomb explosions occurred Monday evening in Maiduguri metropolis, targeting crowded locations during the Ramadan iftar period.
The attacks happened around 7:05 p.m. at the Post Office area, Monday Market axis and near the hospital entrance.
Authorities said suspected members of Boko Haram carried out the explosions using improvised explosive devices in busy public locations.
The Operation Hadin Kai confirmed the incidents in a statement released Monday night.
Security forces responded immediately and secured the affected areas to prevent further explosions and protect residents.
The response involved military personnel, the police explosive ordnance disposal unit and other security agencies working together.
Emergency responders quickly evacuated injured victims to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
Medical teams are currently attending to victims at University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and other medical facilities.
Security authorities said terrorists may have deployed multiple suicide bombers into Maiduguri for coordinated attacks.
Following the incidents, security forces increased surveillance, patrols and counter-IED operations across the city.

Authorities urged residents to remain calm, stay alert and report suspicious persons or objects to security agencies immediately.
The military also expressed sympathy to families affected by the explosions and reaffirmed commitment to protecting lives and property.
